What Fiat batteries specifically need
Fiat batteries are physically small and the trays are tight, so case dimensions matter as much as the electrical rating — an unsecured battery vibrates and fails early. Models with start-stop need an EFB rather than a conventional flooded unit. The Ducato, as a commercial van, is the exception in this range: it carries a much larger battery, often has high cranking demands from a diesel engine, and frequently has aftermarket electrical installations for refrigeration or conversion work that create parasitic drains worth measuring.

Why did my Fiat 500 battery fail without warning?
The factory battery is physically small, so once heat has removed some capacity there is very little reserve left. It keeps starting the car normally until it abruptly cannot, with little of the gradual slow-cranking phase larger cars give you.
Does my Fiat with start-stop need a special battery?
Yes, an EFB at minimum. Start-stop cycling will destroy a conventional flooded battery quickly, and fitting the wrong type usually results in the system disabling itself.
My Ducato van keeps flattening its battery over the weekend. Why?
Almost always a parasitic drain from a fitted fridge unit, inverter or conversion wiring rather than a bad battery. We measure standing current to find it, because replacing the battery will not solve a drain.
