Tesla 12V and 16V Low-Voltage Battery Replacement in Dubai
Almost every Tesla that has to be recovered in Dubai is stranded by its small low-voltage battery, not its traction pack. That low-voltage battery runs the computers, the door handles, the screen and the contactors that connect the main pack. When it fails, a Tesla with 90% charge becomes an immobile, locked object.
There is an important generational difference. Older Teslas use a conventional 12V lead-acid battery. Newer Model S, Model X, Model 3 and Model Y builds moved to a 16V lithium-ion low-voltage battery, which is a different part with different behaviour and cannot be substituted with a lead-acid unit.

What Tesla batteries specifically need
Establishing which low-voltage battery a car uses is the first step, because 12V lead-acid and 16V lithium-ion are not interchangeable. Access is under the front boot liner on most models, or behind a front trim panel. If the low-voltage battery is completely dead, the frunk release will not operate electrically and external power must be fed to the designated 12V terminals behind the front bumper trim to wake the car before anything can be opened. Nothing on the high-voltage side is ever touched. Teslas also give a warning — a 'low voltage battery needs service' alert — that owners frequently ignore for weeks before being stranded.
The fault we see most on Tesla in Dubai
The dominant Tesla case in Dubai is a car that displayed a low-voltage battery warning, was driven for another two or three weeks, and then would not unlock or wake at all. At that point the frunk cannot be opened electrically and external power has to be introduced first. The second pattern is heat: Dubai's ambient temperatures shorten low-voltage battery life noticeably, and a lead-acid unit in an older Tesla frequently fails well inside four years.

?Questions
Tesla battery questions
My Tesla will not unlock or wake up. Is the main battery dead?
Almost certainly not — it is the low-voltage battery. Without it the car cannot power its computers or close the high-voltage contactors, so a fully charged traction pack is unreachable. Restoring low-voltage power brings the car back.
Does my Tesla use a 12V or a 16V battery?
It depends on the build. Older cars use a conventional 12V lead-acid battery; newer Model 3, Y, S and X builds use a 16V lithium-ion unit. They are not interchangeable, so we confirm which is fitted before bringing a replacement.
The frunk will not open because the car is dead. What happens?
External power is fed to the designated 12V terminals behind the front bumper trim to wake the low-voltage system, which restores the electric frunk release. The bonnet is never forced.
Do you replace the main traction battery?
No. High-voltage pack work requires separate certification and equipment and belongs with Tesla. We replace the low-voltage battery, which is what actually strands these cars.
