Why does an electric ID.4 have a 12V battery at all?
Every EV needs low-voltage power to run its computers, locks, screens and the contactors that connect the traction pack. Without a healthy 12V battery the car cannot wake up or access its own high-voltage energy.
My ID.4 is completely unresponsive but the traction battery is charged. What is wrong?
Almost certainly the 12V battery. If it cannot power the control modules, the car cannot close its high-voltage contactors, so a full traction pack is unreachable. Restoring 12V power brings the vehicle back.
Can you jump start an ID.4?
